I have a number of Ecco street shoes and golf shoes and all are size 44. This boot in 44 was way too big and had to be exchanged for a 43.But otherwise a great boot.

The first pair are excellent. The second pair had
a defect and the leather quality was not as good as the first pair-the reasons I returned them. But, I included this in an email to Ecco and asked for a better pair of the same chukka.

Really liked the look of the shoe, but way too big. I've had several pairs of Ecco shoes, in different styles that are a size 40. These boots felt at least like a 41 or 42. There was close to two inches from my toes to the tip of the shoe, and my heel was loose in the back.
If it were for the size discrepancy, this was the perfect boot. Right now, I'm waiting for my refund from Ecco.

I love these shoes. They look good and are very comfortable. Perfect for causal, including business casual. I only had them for a couple of weeks so I cannot comment on any cons and whether they wear out and/or scuff easily, etc. Time will tell.
I like most ECCO shoes, they are very comfortable and tasteful, except the ones that are kind of wide and bulky. I alredy have seven different pairs including golf shoes. I have only two complaints:
1) Size: I am a size 8 (US) but with ECCO I got relegated all the way down to 6.5 (40 EU) except that on some I am 7 or 7.5 (41 EU), and usually there is no way of telling until I try them on. Thinking I know my ECCO size got me in trouble more than once. This makes online ordering a little complicated.
2) Laces: I'm not sure what material they use but most of them get undone within 1 to 2 hours after tying them. The shoes are comfortable and then you feel they get extra comfortable, that's usually when you need to bend over and re-tie your shoe laces!

After reading other reviews about the boot being narrow, I ordered the next size up. The width appears just right but it is too big in length (size) and my heel slips. I do know that from the width of this larger size being snug that the correct size in length would've been too narrow. If you have a narrow foot, these will be fine. If you have a normal D width or wider foot, you probably won't be happy. I wish that I had gone with the correct size and maybe had them stretched in the width by a show repairman but really shouldn't have to be in the middle with trying to make this shoe fit. I sincerely believe this shoe wasn't proportioned correctly. Bummer.
