Comments about ECCO Mens BIOM B 2.1:
Awesome style, light weight great fit everywhere except length! I have several pairs of Eccos including casual, hiking and golf shoes, all are 46 however my toe just barley hits the front of these. So, I tried to order a 47, might be to big but was hoping not! Unfortunatly, to my knowledge that size is not offered?!

Comments about ECCO Mens BIOM B 2.1:
I have Plantar fasciitis in my left foot and I was unable to run for some time. If I taped my foot, I was able to run but it still hurt after the fact. I bought these shoes because I saw mention of someone else having the same issue. I put them on the first day and ran... Needless to say, my body gave out before my feet did. These are the most comforatable shoes I have and they are very light. Ecco is the only dress shoe I will wear and will now be the only shoe I wear period.

Comments about ECCO Mens BIOM B 2.1:
I have been running in the Biom B 2.1 for 6 weeks now. After some research, I decided that this shoe would fit my needs. I was recovering from lower back pain, and I needed to start running again very slowly, so it was not difficult for me to follow Ecco's detailed instructions on slowly getting your body used to this shoe.
The idea behind this shoe is to allow the foot's natural running motion while at the same time protecting from injuries. It is in part a response to the barefoot running movement, but it is also the result of research and analysis of runners, shoes, and foot strike. So while the shoe allows a mid-foot strike and a feel of the ground, it is also carefully cushioned and structured to prevent injuries—especially to the ankle, which takes increased stress with barefoot style running.
The quality of the materials and the construction is very high. The shoe is clearly engineered with a purpose. It is also extremely light. I was surprised at how built up the heel appeared, but this is partly an illusion caused by the external support in the ankle area. The shoe feels great. The yak leather wraps around the top of my foot just perfectly and very lightly and softly—like a foot glove. I am lucky to need almost exactly a 46. It fits snugly with room for my foot to spread while running. I have the white shoes with the red sole. Originally, I hated the colors, but I've grown to like them. My son calls them "fresh," and approves of my "stylin'." I've taken to wiping them down after dusty or muddy runs.
I am now running a mile to mile and a half every other day, adding a little each time as my back improves. I walk about a third of a mile to the track to warm up and then walk to cool down on the walk back. I run on a very lightly graveled track because I can control the impact on my back much better than on trails or streets or sidewalks. The shoes suit my purposes perfectly. They are a pleasure to wear because they are so comfortable. The cushioning surprised me because it seemed a little cloud-pillowy—and I thought Ecco was trying to move toward a barefoot feel. However, once I start running, the flexibility of the shoe allows me to feel straight through to the ground.
I hit an almost exact mid-foot strike and easily get into a good rhythm. I run slowly, but usually add a half lap speed-up somewhere in the run. I immediately slow down or walk or adjust my stride and motion if I feel any pain, and so far this has quickly addressed any nascent issues. I have never had to stop a running session because of any pain. I did however go through the long adjustment periods Ecco schedules for purchasers of this shoe.
A few comments. This shoe does not compete in the same category of any other shoes I looked at. It does not have the super-cushion or corrective structure of a great many running shoes. Neither does it have the absence of cushion and structure one would expect in a minimalist shoe. So it will fail against both of those standards. Further, I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't followed the instructions Ecco gives for getting adjusted to these shoes. I still have more than the usual tightness in my calves after a run, though this is slowly diminishing.
All in all, though, for me, the shoe does exactly what I hoped it would. I am running regularly, enjoying it as much as ever, my back is improving steadily, and for six weeks I have had no issues.

Comments about ECCO Mens BIOM B 2.1:
first, I dont think they are worth [$], I paid [$]for them, which i think is an ok price. I really like the shoe and have started to enjoy running in them. I think the shoe is a little loose but i havent tried the next size smaller. I have run up to 5 miles in them and i have had no blisters and finished with no problems. The other problem is the shoe laces. They seem to loosen up real easily. My avg running pace is between 7-7:30/mile. I run 15-20 miles/week so i do run frequently. I will have an update in about a month on how well these shoes are doing when they are totally broken in.

Comments about ECCO Mens BIOM B 2.1:
As I was breaking these in and just wearing them around all day, I was amazed at how comfortable they are. So far, three weeks in, they have performed great as training shoes. I am six feet, 190 pounds and train mostly on trails, because its less pounding on me, but the cushioning in these ecco's is remarkable. Running on pavement is once again an option for me. I am still getting used to the lower profile of the heel, but so far these have been by far the best running shoes I have ever owned.

When I first put these shoes on, they felt like they were already broken in. Incredibly comfortable, light-weight and look great. The YAK leather is so soft and breathable. By far, my favorite pair of shoes in my closet.

The only shoes I wear are ECCO and I swear by them. None of the shoes that I have purchased from them have had any break in period to deal with. Very true to size [...] -- I would recommend ECCO shoes to everyone -- they are definitely worth the purchase
