I bought these for a trip to Colombia where there would be a lot of walking, but the conditions would be dry overall. They were an excellent choice. They worked for city walking, museum tours, climbing stairs, some trail walking/hiking, and touring a coffee plantation. So, all around use was perfect. They stayed cool because of all the venting, but I'm glad it never rained...since I'm sure my feet would've been wet. They also worked well with and without socks.
The only negative I noted is they were a little loose on my feet and the elastic used to tighten them up didn't always stay tight. They may be just a little big for my feet, but I do wish I could have laced them up tighter.

I am on my feet all day in my job and these shoes are so comfortable the whole day. Lightweight. I have a tendency to roll outward and these shoes control that without having to use insoles I have for my other shoes. Looking to get a second pair!!

I have a high, unstable arch and Ecco sneakers have been the most comfortable, supportive shoes I have found, with great pronation control. These new shoes felt like elf shoes, with the toes curled up-- which actually pressed the metatarsal arch into the floor, rather than supporting it. It felt like I was walking on glass. I will be returning them in the hopes that I can find something like my old Ecco shoes.
