Dressy enough for business use, can be worn with slacks and a tie or more casual, even with jeans. Water proof for foul weather, makes this a great versatile business boot. Especially useful for travel. Can be polished for a more professional look than the average boot. Suprisingly comfortable. Wasn't sure if this boot would meet my needs, so I also bought 2 other boots (one twice the price) but I found myself wearing this one 10x more than the others.

Ecco continues to deliver an excellent quality and manufactured product with its "city" named boots line at very reasonable price. Consistent with these performance the Birmingham GTX will not dissapoint: excellent fit, comfort, durable, vey good quality in materials, etc. Feet stay rested and "breath" at all times, and you will not need to worry about rainy or hot days anymore. I combined this new pair with my old Berlin ones to go to office, partners meeting, and semi-formal social events. After several months with this new model, I can tell I used to attract more complements and attention with the Berlin ones; this new line look with rounded front looks less stylish, almost too common, and police shoe-like. Hope the slight sharp angles of the Berlin and previous models come back soon. I will get me another 2 pairs if so.

I have been wearing ECCO Dress boots for the past ten years. Although ECCO shoes aren't necessarily the most stylish, if you wait for a great looking shoe/boot like this one you can get style as well as the great ECCO comfort. I have always found ECCO shoes/boots to run a full size too large compared to the US sizes so I order a full size smaller and they fit great.
