Most of us who come to Eccos do so because we've had such good experiences with their other shoes. I've had Ecco Track shoes last me ten years or more, and be the most comfortable shoes I own that whole time.
At work I am on my feet literally all day, and I have to have comfort. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so it's wet at least 7-8 months out of a year. I got these for winter (we get the occasional snowfall) and they are perfect. For as big as they look, they are surprisingly lightweight. And true all day comfort. I'm planning a walking trip through Scotland and these will be the shoes I wear.
I haven't worn them in warm weather, but my guess is they would be a little too hot; they really insulate and protect. I'm planning on getting a pair of the Biom Hike 1.3 for all other weather.

I hike no matter what the weather. This boot is a taller version of their hiker and is again the perfect boot. Great cushion(I have a fused back)excellent stability and even though it isn't insulated is a warm boot. I have probably tried every boot on the market and Ecco has really done their homework with this boot. I would highly recomment this boot for day hikes or backpacking.
