The shoe needs a short breakin period of about 3 days. I was suprised that the shoe needed this due to the fact ECCO shoes don't need any breakin. Changed out the innersole for a softer one. Best workmanship and materials go into this shoe except for the innersole.

I really like this shoe, this is the 4th pair of ECCOs I have purchased. My only complaint are the laces, I can't keep them from loosening unless I tie them in a double knot which makes it very inconvenient to take off. Other than that they are great!

It fits me really well, snug enough throughout without having excess material across my toes. I was looking for a day hiking shoe that was below the ankle, breathable and fit. This is not waterproof which is a plus for me because it gets hot here, and the more breathable a shoe, the better.
I just bought these after going through a slew of others, the common hiking shoe brands, and knew immediately. I like eccos but didn't know they made a hiking shoe like this. In all of the others, if they were long enough, they were too wide in the toes, but this works well.

Pleasantly surprised how comfortable they are. Toe box is heavenly on my wide feet. Great look and trim colors. Goretex would have been the icing on the cake and 5 stars. This are my first pair from ecco, will definitely put them at the front of the list next time I need another pair.
